Superior English instruction through our Active Learning System (ALS) is our first priority. The main key to this effective way of teaching is to make learning fun and enjoyable though active participation. Our theory is that students will learn and retain the English lessons by continually keeping the mind active through physical participation in their favourite sports, like snowboarding and golf.
WEC's goal is to make the English learning experience an enjoyable one! We know learning English is the student's first priority and our mission is to teach it effectively in an active way - by having FUN! At WEC, we will give students every opportunity to interact with Whistler locals and lose their inhibitions about speaking English. Every student is respected and involved as a member of the WEC family. We offer the opportunity to study English and to experience the thrill of adventure in the Whistler outdoors. At WEC, we are dedicated to fostering a unique English teaching and outdoor experience for our diverse student population.
Our formula is simple: The students learn inside the classroom and outside with our Active Learning System (ALS) .
WEC is ideally located in the Function Junction district of Whistler.
This zone is popular amongst Whistler locals and gives students a great chance to converse with and make Whistlerites as friends.
We occupy the second floor of a two story building Function Junction, and are located just across from the bus stop. Access is available from the front or rear of the building.
Outside the classrooms there is a sheltered outdoor area where students can relax.
Our well-educated instructors are experienced ESL teachers and more importantly,
they are physically active as well (snowboarding, skiing, golf, etc.).
This unique combination enables the instructors to teach not only in a classroom environment, but outdoors as well.
Their energetic and fun teaching styles make learning at WEC a unique and memorable experience.
